Two foggy days in Vienna
Spent two days in Vienna with Hermann. Went to see his office and met his colleagues. One of them is a really nice girl where I must admit being kind of jealous that he’s allowed to sit right next to her the whole week.. *g* We had the pleasure of going out with her and spent a long night in the Bermuda-Dreieck area of Vienna. I ended up searching for a nightbus somewhere in the 4th quarter in the middle of the night and decided to take a taxi after a few minutes. The 20 euros for the ride home proved a well-spent investment plus I was still able to wake up Hermann so we could get a good 3 hours of sleep before heading for Graz the next morning.
Got a tour of Hermann and Susa’s new house near Graz plus a guided tour through the local Baumarkt-Scene.
The evening was spent celebrating Moni’s and Hermann’s birthday. Had a good sleep in the Party-Room accompanied by the house-dog. She had bad dreams, I could tell… But, finally someone who appreciates my getting up at half-past six! She was even more excited when we went outside to play some ball but quickly grew tired of me - and the ball… Ah… Women… :)
Typing this on my way back to Klagenfurt, gotta spend more time on trains. I could just sit, listen to music, stare outside for hours and let my mind drift… Not that I would think of something useful or be productive in any way, I sometimes enjoy my brain running on 2%. I guess it’s just like a friend of mine likes to say… “Simple minds - simple pleasures”… :)
Pics are available on Flickr as usual. Not much there though as I only spent a few hours walking around plus didn’t really get into snapping mood somehow… My favourite is the one included in this post (click for bigger version). If you are in Vienna, go to the Museumsquartier, climb the stairs to one of the museums and explore the little path behind them.
Thanks for yet another nice weekend go to Hermann, Maurice (the dinner-guy *g*), Nicole, Susa, Moni and to Hermann’s parents.

Google protects :)
Me, as one instance of the standard internet user (the “click-on-everything” type) searches Google for lyrics of Snow Patrol’s newest Hit “Chasing Cars”… So I click on the first hit I get for “chasing cars lyrics”…
Up comes this…
You guessed, it, I clicked continue anyways… But maybe some smarter surfer wouldn’t…
Think it’s a good thing but wonder how they classify such sites… There is a pop-under integrated there which Firefox didn’t even notice, but other than that nothing harmful at first sight…
A quick Google search didn’t come up with anything useful, someone out there who could enlight me?

Another Photowalking video with Scoble and Thomas Hawk
Robert Scoble from the Scoble Show did a photowalking series once with Thomas Hawk where they walked through the San Francisco Bay Area. This time they have been to a pumpkin field.
Please go check out Thomas Flickr and Zoomr profiles.
I find it inspiring to see how Thomas works. It’s really just about the photography for him. I should do more such stuff… Find locations and go there alone or with someone else but _just_ to photograph, not doing something else and snapping a few photos during the occasion.
Plus I like it how he shoots primes only.
Anyway, I recommend the whole video series to anyone looking into photography. I wish they would do a video of the post-processing too, will mail Scoble ’bout that.
Plus, check out the Moo Cards Thomas shows in the last part, I already ordered some. *g* Great publicity.
If you’ve not seen any from this series check out all the videos here.

Cool Teleconferencing from Cisco
It’s called Telepresence, SIP based, is controlled by a phone and features 3 Plasma Screens and High-Def 1080p. 150ms from screen to screen using 10-12 MBit/sec.
Real cool, they also talk about telepresence and holographic images. Seems great for bigger companies which can shell out the 300k for this system.
Check the video by Scoble. Feels like one is there…
