Two favorites
Today I’ll present you with two online things I can’t live without anymore…
The left one on the screenshot is Flickrfox which has been recommended by KWentin.
It’s a Firefox add-on that helps staying in touch with peoples photostreams on Flickr (one could guess that by its name). You can choose what to display from a drop-down menu (either friends streams, your groups, favorites or your own pics). Built-in tag search is a plus but not of much use to me… Not much to configure, just how many pics are shown and if the thumbs should be square or not. It’s brilliant and updates instantly when a friend uploads a new photo. Though it might freak out some people if you always post a comment 10 seconds after their upload finished.
The second thing is Google Reader. It’s a online time consuming device - much like Flickr but with less pictures to look at…
Subscribe to feeds (rss or atom) and start reading. There is also the option to categorize streams into groups, though I haven’t messed with that yet (but will once the feeds start taking up more space than my monitors height). There is also the option to share read items - like mine. I’ve just startet this today and am looking into integrating it into Wordpress. Found a plugin already but that damn thing won’t work yet (update: done using Googles own code, look left).
On a sidenote: I know my photo-a-day project is not doing well but I’ll try getting better…
So long…
