Life Unplugged…

I’ve come to love Adobe Lightroom. The learning curve is just great, if you’ve never used it and sit in front of it for an hour or so you’ve got the basics.

However - just like Photoshop - this tool has thousands of useful functions and shortcuts to get things done. I’ve just found a site that sports some cool Lightroom Tutorial videos. Go and check it out!

There are videos that show the interface and how to hide parts and get around using keyboard shortcuts plus some more sophisticated stuff like syncing image settings and even a walkthrough for a whole shoot Michael Tapes did - from the memory card to publishing the final photos.

Heute draufgekommen das mein - inzwischen schon fast ein Jahr alter - Sigma EF-500 DG SUPER Blitz remote auslösbar ist. Leider funktioniert das TTL anscheinend nicht so ganz mit meiner Nikon D70, habs noch nicht geschafft ihn so einzustellen das er blitzt wie die Kamera das will. Aber das wird noch. Hab gelesen das es sein könnte das mein Blitz für die D70 eine zu alte Firmware-Version hat (mir fehlt auch eine Option die in allen Tutorials erwähnt wird). Muss mal die Original-Rechnung suchen die ich bei ebay mitbekommen habe, angeblich macht Sigma das Upgrade gratis.

In Ermangelung eines gscheiten Motivs musste auf die schnelle die Waschmaschine herhalten, der Blitz löst brav aus, sogar wenn er “um die Ecke” steht solange irgendwie das Licht vom Masterblitz der Kamera hinkommt. Sobald ich die D70 auf Master/TTL stelle macht der Sigma auch Messblitze vor dem eigentlichen Blitz und die Kamera löst dann aus, allerdings blitzt er trotzdem immer nur so stark wie ichs manuell am Blitz selbst einstelle. An und für sich sollte er das von der Kamera kriegen. Na gut, noch ein bissl spielen. Ich glaub ich brauch jetzt erstmal ein Ladegerät und 8 AA-Akkus *g*…

I’ve you’ve been into Twitter you have no doubt heard of twittervision. A GoogleMaps-Twitter  Mashup that tracks realtime twits. But there is always so much text and so little time to read. :)

It gets easier with pictures I tell you… Dave Troy has built flickrvision! Go and try it! It displays Flickr geotagged photos in realtime, it’s a great tool! I want it as my screensaver, plus I’ll need one of those 24-inch displays please…

Also, make sure to click on of the images, there will be another layer in the middle of your screen that shows the pic in a higher resolution.

So I’m back again. Just in time for a small earthquake in Klagenfurt. It seems we get them regularly now.

So, wer kennt sich gut in Frankreich aus?

1997 war ich mit knapp 60 anderen Rekruten in zwei Bussen unterwegs nach Lourdes. Dazwischen gabs einige Zwischenhalte, bei den meisten weiss ich noch wos war, bei zwei total coolen kleinen Städten aber nicht…

Eins an der Küste, mehr wie ein Fischerdörfchen, ein anderes größeres im Landesinneren mit einer Riesen-Burg obendrauf mit “mittelalterlichen” Geschäften und allem was zum Tourismus dazugehört.

Wenn wer was erkennt bitte melden, würd echt gern wissen wo das war. Durch klicken auf die Fotos wirds größer. :)

Hab die Fotos auch mal zur “Guess where in France?” Flickr Gruppe dazugetan, vielleicht erräts ja da wer…

Update: Die Burg ist gelöst - Carcassonne wars. Das Städtchen am Meer fehlt noch.
