Life Unplugged…

This is the making of to the Sprint Ad I posted a few days ago. Coming right from Strobist again.

I’ve come to love Adobe Lightroom. The learning curve is just great, if you’ve never used it and sit in front of it for an hour or so you’ve got the basics.

However - just like Photoshop - this tool has thousands of useful functions and shortcuts to get things done. I’ve just found a site that sports some cool Lightroom Tutorial videos. Go and check it out!

There are videos that show the interface and how to hide parts and get around using keyboard shortcuts plus some more sophisticated stuff like syncing image settings and even a walkthrough for a whole shoot Michael Tapes did - from the memory card to publishing the final photos.

Tja, so siehts also aus wenn Journalisten arbeiten…

Wer mag kann auf ustream.tv Georg Holzer zusehen während er am neuen Web-Special der Kleinen Zeitung bastelt. Einen Live-Chat gibt’s drunter auch.

Allerdings hat er andere Arbeitszeiten, Sonntag gegen 11 gibt’s noch immer das “Gone for a beer” Schild zu sehen. Anscheinend sinds dann doch mehrere geworden…

Klagenfurt gibts jetzt auch in Google Earth hochauflösend. Noch nicht die höchste mögliche  Auflösung wie man sie anderswo sieht, aber schon sehr kamot zum rumschaun.
Die Aufnahmen dürften vom Herbst/Frühjahr sein, das USI Gebäude bei der Uni steht schon, der Platz rundrum ist noch nicht fertig. Jemand genauere Zeitangaben?

Das Stadion ist auch mitten im Bau, Dach ist noch keines zu sehen, denke also eher Herbst, oder?

In Google Maps ist das Kartenmaterial übrigens noch das alte, ganz schlecht aufgelöste. Bei Earth sieht man das der Bereich zwischen hinter Spittal, hinunter nach Tolmezzo, Gemona, Bled und rauf nach Klagenfurt gut aufgelöst ist.

Man kann seit neuestem auch mit Drei in Österreich die SMS Reminder von Google Kalender nutzen. Bei den unterstützten Anbietern steht Drei noch immer nicht dabei, allerdings kann man jetzt bei den Einstellungen einfach eine Telefonnummer eintippen und muss keinen Anbieter mehr auswählen.

Also einfach +43660xxxxxxx rein und die Bestätigungs-SMS kommt an.

If you know the Internets the chance is high you know Digg, the Web 2.0 site that came and killed /..

There have been months of debates on Digg. Users wanted a section for images, just like for videos. Well, someone did just that and more. photographyVoter is Digg for Photography. It even comes with a stupid, non Web2.0 name.

It’s powered by Pligg, an open source Digg clone.

Long time that I have recommended another blog. Well, there’s a photography/art blog I discovered: oughtful by Matthew Hollett.

He has a hand at writing but doesn’t update very often. Go and read ”windowblogs and livingroom libraries” and “eighteen hundred hours“.
